HCR-20 V3, SARA-V3, and B-SAFER Train-the-Trainer Certification Programs

The Train-the-Trainer programs allow us to certify that we have: 1) reviewed and approved the education and work experience of trainers, as well as examples of their work product; 2) examined their level of knowledge about the tool in question, as well as the Structured Professional Judgment approach; 3) provided them with small-group tutorials in the use of the risk assessment tools and in training others to use those tools, using our own training materials; 4) evaluated their training in the field through observation and written evaluations; and 5) taken steps to make sure their knowledge of the relevant literature remains accurate and up-to-date through annual continuing education requirements.

Dr Ruth Tully (BSc(Hons), MSc, DForenPsy, CPsychol, EuroPsy, AFBPsS, CSci, MAE, AFEHA) is a Registered/Chartered Forensic Psychologist in the UK. Dr Tully is Clinical Lead of Tully Forensic Psychology Ltd, where she and her team of Forensic and Clinical Psychologists work throughout the UK in the provision of psychological assessment, treatment/therapy, consultancy, and training. Dr Tully’s wider experience includes working with adults and young people in secure healthcare, social care, prison, and community settings. Dr Tully has an active research, publication, and public speaking profile. She is considered a leading authority on violence and sex offender risk assessment in relation to research, clinical work, and training professionals.

Dr. Akiko T. Kikuchi

Dr. Akiko T. Kikuchi obtained BA, MS, and PhD degrees in health science at the University of Tokyo. She is a certified clinical psychologist and a licensed psychiatric social worker and has been the section chief of the Department of Forensic Psychiatry at the National Institute of Mental Health in Japan since 2004. Her expertise is in the field of clinical psychology, specializing in the treatment and assessment of offenders with psychosis.
