Case Illustrations are one of the most powerful ways to demonstrate the use of a tool for assessing and managing violence risk and how it can be implemented in practice. This webinar focuses on the use of the Spousal Assault Risk Assessment Guide Version 3 (SARA-V3) and the Brief Spousal Assault Form for the Evaluation of Risk (B-SAFER) to assess and manage risk for intimate partner violence in law enforcement settings. The case illustrations will highlight both promising practices and challenging issues related to implementation of structured professional judgment guidelines in this sector (e.g., considering diversity issues, communicating about risk for lethal violence). This webinar is appropriate for those new to the field of violence risk/threat assessment, as well as experienced professionals who are looking for an introduction to or refresher in the structured professional judgment approach to violence risk/threat assessment. Although the webinar focuses on cases based in law enforcement settings, it is relevant to professionals working in diverse sectors.
