Conducting interviews is one of the most important and most challenging strategies for gathering information when assessing and managing risk for violence. During this workshop you will learn about best practices when conducting interviews for the purpose of violence risk assessments, by focusing on foundational issues and core components as well as special issues (e.g. mental disorder) that arise when conducting interviews. Case illustrations will be provided though recordings, templates, and questions and implementation issues related to risk communication will be discussed.
