Understanding… Mental Health and Violence Risk Workshop Series (2 of 4): Substance-related and addictive disorders

Although serious mental health problems are a very important risk factor for future violence, many threat assessment professionals are not confident recognizing and responding to symptoms of mental disorder. As part of our Understanding Mental Health and Violence Risk series, this workshop will focus on the relevance of Substance-Related and Addictive Disorders with respect to violence risk. Case illustrations will be used to highlight both promising practices and challenging issues in this area.
